Just a few hours ago, the 2014 Golden Globe Awards took place at The Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills, California, USA.
Being one of the major awards show to kick off the year, it had the world buzzing. The stylistas and fashionistos hit the red carpet in glamorous frocks and suave suits.
Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o as well as Cate Blanchett, Uma Thurman, Kerry Washington, Zoe Saldana, Leonardo DiCaprio, Usher and Sofia Vergara were definitely some of the best dressed at the awards ceremony.
Unfortunately Lupita and Chiwetel, lost out to Jennifer Lawrence and Matthew McConaughey in their categories, but there is still the SAG awards and the Oscars to look forward to.

Lagos State Police Arrest Suspected Killer Of Music Director Sesan Ogunro’s Father

The police in Lagos State have arrested an  armed robber whose gang  was suspected to have killed the late advertising guru, Sesan Ogunro about three weeks ago.
According to Nigerian Tribune, the arrested suspect, Jonathan Nsirim was arrested after one of his girlfriends  was arrested in connection with a robbery operation.
Nsirim later identified three other members of his dreaded gang as Ezekiel Anthony, Abiodun Amuda
and a certain Samuel. He also allegedly named a certain Fine Money and a South Africa-based soldier as other members of the dreaded armed robbery gang.
The gang, which killed Ogunro, was said to have participated in one of the robbery operations at Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
The police recovered a Honda Accord saloon car from Nsirim’s home, with four AK 47 rifles  carefully concealed at the four sides of the vehicle.

Rapper Vector was interviewed by a the National Tribune recently and was asked a question or two about the competition he faces from youngsters Wizkid, Davido and Olamide;

.Don’t you think the likes of Davido, Wizkid, Olamide are stealing the show from you and others?
    I have never seen it like that. I will never see it that way.

.Why? 
   These guys are successful and I bless God for their lives. If you care to know, our audiences are different, so they are not stealing the show.

.What makes you stand out?
    I don’t mean to disrespect anybody, I have high moral; the guy that doesn’t do tattoo or plait his hair. Moreover, I am a guy that believes in education before anything.

.Are you saying this because some of these guys have tattoo on   their bodies and that a handful of them dropped out of school?
      No! I’m saying what makes me stand out is what I have been doing and what makes them stand out is what they have been doing. You see, we are not contemporaries, so no threat. I have my fans around the world and I am comfortable with the love they show me. Nigeria is developing, not because we are comparing it with other developing countries. If we do that, we are not developing.

OJB’s first wife explains why she donated her kidney to him

OJB’s wife of 20 years, Mabel Okungbowa, donated her kidney to the prolific music producer a few months ago. In an interview with Punch today, Mama J as she’s fondly called, explains why she did it.

“I did not even think twice about it, I had it and I gave it to him. He is my husband, the father of our children and I love him. This is somebody I have been with all my life. I did not tell anybody before I decided to, not even my parents because I had foreseen their reaction. There was no reason to inform them.  When I married him, I told God I wanted the both of us to grow old together and live to see many generations. Jonathan Orders Sanusi To Resign For ‘Leaking’ $49.8bn Unremitted Funds Letter

In a move that may be bad for the image of a leader that has been criticized for his stance on corruption, President Goodluck Jonathan has asked the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, to resign immediately on the grounds that the letter Sanusi wrote to him on the unremitted $49.8 billion oil revenue to the Federation Account, was leaked to former President Olusegun Obasanjo by the CBN governor.
Just months to the end of his tenure as governor, Sanusi has however refused to resign, even as he denied leaking the letter to anyone.
He was said to have informed the president during the heated telephone exchange that he could only be removed by two-thirds of the Senate as required by law.
The president was reported to have called Sanusi and accused him of leaking the letter to Obasanjo, which enabled the latter to use it as one of many allegations he levelled against Jonathan in his letter titled: “Before It is Too Late”.
According to a source in the presidency, the president was very angry and was not prepared to allow Sanusi proceed on his terminal leave in March, asked him to tender his resignation before the close of business last Tuesday.
Angered by the president’s position, Sanusi, who denied that he had leaked his letter to Obasanjo made it clear he would not be forced out, except he is removed by two-thirds of the Senate.
He also told the president that the letter was available in the presidential villa, available in the finance ministry and available in the central bank and wondered how he (Sanusi) could have leaked the letter, which was so widely available, to a former two-term president of Nigeria who has his people all over the place.
Sanusi also expressed his surprise to the president that he was the one being asked to resign instead of the president to ask those responsible for the non-remittance of the funds to resign.
Sources say his response threw the president aback, degenerating into a heated exchange during which Sanusi told the president that as the federal government’s Chief Economic Adviser, mandatorily required to bring issues of critical economic importance to the attention of the president, he had done a patriotic duty to his country.
“He informed the president that it is necessary to deal with the issues and not the letter that had been leaked since it has since been established that it was not $49.8 billion that had not been remitted to the Federation Account, but $10.8 billion, which was still in dispute and by any stretch of imagination was still a large sum.
The president was said to have however remained adamant and insisted on the CBN governor’s resignation.
Sanusi had written to the president in September informing him that, among other issues, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) had not remitted $49.8 billion of oil revenue to the Federation Account over a 19-month period.
Although the letter was not made public until December 4, 2013 when it was leaked, Obasanjo referred to it in his letter dated December 2, 2013, to the president.

A Man Offered Half a Million Naira to Sleep With Me – Nigeria’s Hairiest Woman
Queen Okafor is a unique woman with unique features. She has a rare endowment from nature. Looking at her, one would think she is a man, but she is a full blooded woman.  Queen, as her name suggests, has become a celebrity of sort whenever she steps out in public as the people stare at her in amazement.
 Queen’s attraction is an abundance of hairs all over her body especially in the upper region- face, hands, chests etc. Although she was born without much hair on her body, she gradually began sprouting them at the age of 21 years. Today, at 26, Queen has done many things humanly possible to stop the abnormal growth, but to no avail.
Narrating her experience, Queen said she started noticing the hair at unusual places at the age of 21.
When this reporter met Queen in a bus going to Oshodi from Mile 2, in Lagos some months ago, passengers were starring at her embarrassingly. As the lady tried to hide her face, more eyes were on her, thus arousing much interest from co-passengers.
Queen eventually opened up to this reporter, maintaining that she was not using the story to beg for money or as a form of publicity stunt, but only to draw the attention of  NGOs to fight for women with such rare disability as hers. Queen believes that she is a normal person with unwanted recognition from the society.
She told Sunday Sun:
“My name is Queen Nonyerem Okafor. I am from Anambra State. We are five children from our parents, three girls and two boys. I inherited the hairs from my mum and it runs in the family.  Once you get to 21 to 23 years  in our family, you start experiencing hair growth.  I am 26 years old now, when I was in secondary school, much hairs were not on my body. It started when I finished my secondary school. I am not granting you this interview as if I need help or money, no! I want to tell my story and what it means to be a hairy woman. All I need is for an NGO to take up my case as a woman with abnormal conditions and also to act in the movie industry.”
She revealed to Sunday Sun that the change on her skin initially made her uncomfortable, but following advice from good people, her confidence was boosted.  In her words:
“The first time it started to grow on my body, I was ashamed, but someone advised me that I shouldn’t bother, that it is a blessing not a curse. The person told me that I am unique, besides, wherever I go, I would be recognised. She advised me that I shouldn’t be ashamed, rather that I should be proud of myself. It was her that gave me strength and boosted my self esteem. Some people think that I am a man. Some think I fixed my breast to deceive people. Men especially find it difficult to believe that I am a woman. It was when we interact that most men are reassured that I am a woman. It has made me to be very popular and recognised in public. It has boosted my confidence to socialize. People want to identify with me to know the stuff I am made of. Some want to find out where this girl is coming from. People call and dash me money because of my hairy nature, but I don’t beg for money.”
Queen said she tried to stop the work of nature by applying all sorts of cosmetics and native substances, all to no avail but it turned out to cause more harm than good.
 “Before the advice came, I was asking God why all these now? I was thinking of what to rub  to clear the hair from my skin. I rubbed tortoise faeces and a lot of things people recommend for me to use, but it didn’t remove them, rather it caused more harm than good as I started growing bumps and sores while the hair was still coming out. So, I stopped rubbing those things. I suffered those lumps trying to stop the growth,” she narrated.
She revealed that her worst time comes when the weather is too hot  and during the dry season.
“When there is much heat, I feel terrible, it doesn’t itch but it really inconveniences me most times. That`s why I have to wear or put on light cloths because sweat soaks my dress when I go out. Once you see me, you know that heat is dealing with me as a result of my hairy skin. I used to shave it off but if I want to shave all, it will cause me lumps all over my body. She said she had not taken the medical option seriously. “I have not gone to hospital. I don’t care anymore because it is from within my blood and it is  hereditary. I don’t need it because I can`t be using my money on something that refuses to free me. A doctor had advised that surgery can remove it, but not in Nigeria. Maybe outside the country, but I am not interested.”
Queen revealed that her hair has not changed anything in her love life, neither does it stop men from admiring her, rather it has turned many heads to look at her.
 “A man that is meant for me will come when the time comes. It is not a problem. I will get married, after all, there are other disabled people that are married despite their condition. When I was 18 or 19 years old, I was supposed to have married, but it was just that the man was a hot tempered person. He was my suitor and we ended it there. He was seeing the hair coming little by little. People are appreciating me and a lot of people are still coming for my hand in marriage. 
I have been seeing many men coming to ask me for relationship, even one claimed he is from a European country that he came back to Nigeria to look for a woman to marry. But most men just want a fling, they don’t want serious relationship. I was doubting if he was real or not. I have admirers just like every other girl. Most times, I have admires more than normal girls. But most men are not sincere,  my mother would say that love is not by lip service. I have been hearing things like, I want to marry you, but after sleeping with you, the man will end up dumping you for another woman. My boyfriend likes me the way I look and I have not been dumped because I am hairy. 
Men don’t break my heart. I don’t trust men easily because I wouldn’t allow myself to have emotional breakdown. I can`t wait for my heart to be broken. In my village, an old woman has advised that she knows that I am not yet married, but I should believe that my own person is coming. She said that when my husband will come, I will find it difficult to believe that the man is my own. She told me that is how her own daughter looks. But now I have come to appreciate how I am created,” she said.
Narrating her most embarrassing moment in high density locations like market places, she disclosed that people crave to see her face.
 “I came to Lagos last year to see whether I can stay in Lagos or not. Other times I have been coming and going. But the truth is that I have been enjoying my stay in Lagos now because something good is happening. Anytime I go out, people will notice my presence and look at me. For instance, the first time I went to Ladipo Market, people besieged me, both traders and touts snapping me with their phones and video. You would be shocked how they gathered and caused chaotic situation that day, you would have written it as big news, to the extent that I went to a shopping complex and they started clapping for me, calling me Eze Nwanyi, which means Queen. They were hailing me so much. It was the most embarrassing day of my life. The traders and touts left what they were doing to follow me around and saying all sorts of things, if not for one man that offered to give us a lift, we wouldn’t have escaped those boys. There was a time I went to Alaba International Market with a sister and traders were peeping through the window to see my face and they were saying, ‘she is all hairs oh!’ Someone has stepped down from a bus because of me, a lady. Both of us were entering a bus at Mile 2 and immediately she glanced at me she changed her mind and immediately alighted from the bus despite that the bus conductor was urging her to enter, that was the only time someone refused to ride in the same bus with me.
Queen whose dream is to become an actress, said she was forced to resign because of sexual harassment from her employer.
“If I have the opportunity of becoming an actress, I can do that but it is to get the right person to help me. I need somebody to help me because I am perfect in everything I do. I need someone to put me through but people tell me that for some producers or directors, all they are after is to sleep with you.  I have not encountered that yet, but people have been telling me to be careful. People get easily attracted to me.
The dark complexioned Queen shocked the reporter with her revelation on how homosexuals plead to take her to bed. She also explained why she pierced her nose.
 “Why I pieced my nose was because it is fashionable, though I know I look weird already, I don’t give a hoot. It is my body,  I accept the fact that I am strange. A woman has toasted me at Elegushi Beach while I was there with my friends. On that day, she called me and gave me her complimentary card and begged me to hop into her car, but I refused. She insisted and begged to be my friend, but my mind told me that she is a lesbian and she was inviting me to Ajah. I turned her offer down because I know that most lesbians are into cultism. Some women will see me and extol my qualities, saying that they see women with hairs but that my own is the highest. In fact, one said I am the queen of hairy women. I met a guy at a supermarket and he was obsessed about me, before you knew it, he started telling me that he liked me, that I am beautiful and all that. Normal toasting, I thought he was like every other man as usual,  but after the toasting, he went straight to the point, to tell me that he would like to have sex with me through my anus, promising to give me half a million naira.
But I rejected it immediately, God forbid! I can`t tamper with my anus.  I stopped seeing him and refused to pick his calls. I can`t do that. Another man begged me to bear him a child that will look like me, also promising to reward me handsomely. When I am praying, I plea with God to help me overcome them. Nobody can rape me because I am fearful, but men see me and get sexually aroused because I look special because of the hairy skin, but I have not been embarrassed or raped. Being hairy gives me protection as people see me and get afraid of me. Those guys who attack people see me and hail me. They will not like to do anything bad to me.

" Yesterday Tuesday January 7,2014 at New benin by Total fuel station in Benin City,Gov Adams Oshiomole and his entourage were passing by and as usual,he was on foot while his cars were on the move.
Some little children hawking (with their goods on their heads) saw him and began running for their lives but a little girl hawking Plantain chips stood still because she was perhaps too sacred to run
Gov Oshiomole got to where this little girl was standing,looked at her and as everyone stood still and watched the outcome,he brought out his pen and wrote her a 1million naira cheque and threw her plantain chips into the air and people began catching them to eat.. Lol.
This story is real and you can take it to the bank.
Instead of telling her to go and die, he gave her one million naira cheque to go and live!

Miss Kedike said she will date damm krane over star boy

Miss Kedike has definitely been in the limelight since her marvellous win at the MTN project fame west Africa in 2010. She sat down with hip hop world magazine for this revealing interview where she talks about her career, family, picking a man and her low cut hair style.

-What’s up with you and DammyKrane?
            Dammy Krane is my friend, he is everybody’s friend, and he’s funny and crazy. Before I shot the Video, I had a lot of options to play my love interest in the Video but I didn’t like any. Then someone said there was this new guy and then they played his song and I liked it. Sometime later, we were at Cool FM and I spotted him jumping about and being very playful. He was so energetic; I liked him instantly and wanted him as my love interest in the video. So my manager called him up, he was so nice, he came over, we talked and he told me the day we were going to shoot the Video was his birthday. Then I got scared that he might not make it. Unfortunately, on the day of the shoot, he got robbed that morning but he still made it to the shoot and then left after his part. We’ve been friends ever since.

Tell us about your record label and Ill Bliss…?
          I love the record label. I started out working with Ill Bliss, we have this chemistry working together, and I enjoy working with him.

-If you must, who would you date amongst Iyanya, Wizkid, Dammykrane and Davido?
      Iyanya has the body. Davido has the money, Wizkid is the Starboy, DammyKrane is a sweet, cute guy. I’ll probably go with DammyKrane.

-What are you currently working on?
       I’m recording and trying to put the album together which should drop next year.

Asari Condemns Ex-president of Nigeria.

Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo, the Popular leader of Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), on Thursday January 2nd 2014, he dropped a stinker on former President Olusegun Obasanjo calling him “the Chief Assassin of all times.” This is a letter he wrote in response to the 8 page letter Obasanjo had initially written Jonathan. In the letter Asari rebutted Obasanjo’s claim that Jonathan was training a special killer squad to hit 1000 supposed opponents of his government. He also asserted that Obasanjo was responsible for his arrest in Benin and that he had the Intentions of killing him while he was in governance, but wasn't successful. It will be recalled that Asari had threatened that Nigeria would be in Disarray if Jonathan does not become president in 2015.
